Burning Man is back on. That is, the rain has stopped, the dirt/sand has dried up, and they are letting people into the grounds again. The festival had to close on opening day due to severe rain and thunderstorms, turning away thousands of RV’s and cars. Mother Nature is back on board and the music and festivities shall continue.
Yet, you don’t have to weather the crowds and all out craziness that ensues when thousands of people get together to experience a taste of the Burning Man vibe. This fall’s feather and tassel trend can let you participate (albeit, in a small way) without facing the all out madness of a festival.
Make a statement in Konstantina Konstantinidi’s vibrant blue and green feather Nikolas necklace, or try Isabel Marant’s somewhat subdued version in gold tone crystals and feathers. For a peacock look with no feathers, Silvia Rossi’s stunning necklace is made from rhodium plated brass, acrylic and plexiglas. Love it!!
While my preferred tassel versions were simpler and sleeker – love both Rebecca Minkoff’s fringe tassel necklace, and Club Monaco’s leather and beaded one; Daniela Bustos’ maya grey Plumas version proves they can make a statement as well.

Yesterday, I disclosed it was sale time at many of my favorite stores (brick and mortar & e-commerce).Thursday starts Barney’s sale, but you can always see Michelle Goodman (personal shopper extraordinaire) at the Beverly Hills store today to get a jump-start, and make sure you nab your favorites – 310.276.4400.
Sale time is always a good time to splurge on designer pieces that normally don’t make it into your budget, or are just plain challenging to justify the steeper prices. It can be an excellent time to try out a trend, or add a classic piece that will be a mainstay in your closet for years to come.
These are the pieces I have my eye on; the By Malene Birger Nissia split-back sequined top — the back has one pearl button closure, so the top can be worn backward as a cardigan/jacket (two tops in one)! Brilliant!!
I’ve been in love with MSMG’s viscose-blend jumpsuit for a long time, so you can imagine how over joyed I was to get a second chance at making it mine. And, at almost 30% off. Preen Line’s cotton-terry track pants will be something I’ll live in this summer (I’m debating on whether to change the drawstring to a neutral color), and a grey tote is a great addition to any summer wardrobe – Rebecca Minkoff’s mini Perry tote fits the bill to a tee!
And, I can’t forget my most treasured piece – Chloe’s crepe de chine blouse. The perfect tunic length to wear over everything, and it’s silhouette is timeless so I know I’ll have it forever!
But don’t dilly daddle some of my most coveted items are already sold out. I don’t want you to miss the boat on yours!!

Fashion weeks have wound up and we’ve been left with not only superb clothing from designer’s runways everywhere, but amazing and innovative street snaps from around the world. Besides editors, buyers and bloggers, celebrities have always been a front row fixture at the shows with designers often trying to one up each other with the hottest stars du jour. Touted as the hardest working woman in show business – a successful international recording artist and actress with her own fashion and perfume lines, she recently wrapped up her gig as judge for American Idol – you would never know with how beautiful she looks at Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2013 show.
