Ugh. I’ve been back in the dating world for a few weeks now, and what I want to know: Is dating in Los Angeles any different from dating in other major metropolis’? Do other cities have the cliché older, successful man yearning for the all-to-available young, beautiful girl syndrome? If so, is their left over pool of men as allergic to commitment as they are in LA? In fact, so averse, that at the first signs of the relationship heading towards the “C word” they pull out their Epi pen (and we know how expensive these have gotten), shoot themselves full of mojo juice, or such, in order to jolt such dreadful thoughts from their mind?
Or, is it us women? Does an answer lie somewhere in the depths of the age-old adage — You always want what you can’t have? Maybe, we are too often attracted to the “bad boys” instead of the giving the trustworthy, kind and dependable, but not quite as enticing guys a fair shake. Food for thought.
I don’t know many of the above answers, but what I do know is where you can get a fab look for a date (see my curated look above), whether it be with a good, bad or hopefully somewhere in between the two guy.

When being thrown back into the dating pool some might like to play it tame and opt for a slightly more conservative look. I, on the other hand, will take the plunge (pun intended) in Onia’s sky blue halter one piece. For a fresh take on denim I’ll keep the main pieces tonal by pairing the one piece with Iro’s Agnette jacket, in a darker shade of the same hue, and Adriano Goldschmied’s Phoebe ultra light cropped jeans. Black accessories will serve up just enough edge to keep this look exciting!
Weigh in: Which bag do you prefer to complete this look? Black or Patchwork denim.

Summer night dates are my idea of happiness. You can wear what ever you desire with no worries about the elements. Once I saw this Nicholas cascade frill bustier top it I knew I had to have it — the perfect top for a warm weather date night.

My heart is so broken, I am beyond words. Just two nights ago I watched Purple Rain for the umpteenth time and thought I will never tire of it. Such a prolific, brilliant musician. Such a sweet, gentle soul. You will be missed.
The holidays can be a difficult time for dating. All the parties, shopping and work ate up most of my time, and made meeting someone for the first few times a touch difficult. Now that all that craziness is past and I have settled into the new year, I’m back on my journey to love.
The rain and cold weather are my only hindrance now. I find my self wanting to bundle up in sweat pants or jeans all day. But for a date in a beautiful new restaurant (Charcoal Venice) I’ll be pulling out my over the knee boots. They’re chic, sexy, and the best part is they will keep me warm enough to wear a skirt or dress!
Speaking of skirts, I’m jonesing for the Grace MMXIII fringe skirt (above), on sale at Elyse Walker. The only question now is, do I have time for a pit stop to the store before this evening??

I’ve decided to jump back into that dating pool. Even going so far as to sign up for online dating. Ugh. But, I’m pretty sure my dream guy is not going to march up to my house, ring the doorbell and ask me where I’ve been all my life. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!
A sure-fire way to look smashing is wrapped up in Rag & Bone’s cozy reversible wrap. I’ll feel like a million bucks!! And, when you feel great, you look great!

Have you ever had a date plan something special for the two of you, and upon inquiring how to dress he responds with, ” Don’t worry, it’s casual”. But is it really? Some men aren’t at their best expressing the finer points of dress codes. What to do?
I say listen to your heart. For me that means, erring on the side of caution, and dressing casual but looking chic. The above ensemble embodies that vibe to the tee. The look’s core elements of cropped black jeans and suede ankle boots with a cowboy feel, paired with a Rosie Assoulin slit sleeve navy sweater (on sale at Moda Operandi) couldn’t read any more casual chic if they tried. The black and navy combo is currently one of my favs and definitely reads stylish.
Tossing on a minimal necklace keeps the focus on the sweater detailing (love those slit sleeves). Gorjana’s layered lariat is fabulous and rings in at under $100, and Isabel Marant’s fringe earrings add a glam quotient to the look. The final touch of 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Pashli clutch lends a casual and cool feel.
Now, when he says casual but you want special you’ll both get what you wish for. You can’t get much better than that!

The Modern Female Poets You Need to Know
As most of you probably know, one of my favorite (of many) things about summer is that there seems to be a must-see concert every week, and with a variety of musical genre’s so everyone has something to choose from.
Dinner and live music calls for an impeccably chic, comfortable and edgy look. Today’s date look encompasses all three making it an exemplary choice. Comfort — Tory Burch’s crochet and fringe skirt interlaces yellow Japanese waxed yarns with bright blue gimp for a skirt with a bit of give. Chic – Getting Back To Square One’s cropped tee-shirt, and Phillip Lim’s pointed toe flat would look right at home on Audrey Hepburn, and you can’t get any chicer than that. Edge — I choose jewelry that gives this ensemble its rock ‘n roll vibe. Ca & Lou’s ear cuffs along with Cynthia Desser’s double wrap bracelet with fringe (one of my favorites of her new pieces) amp up this look from classic to edgy.
