With the rise of the “Ask Her More” initiative, celebrities are demanding to talk about topics other than the clothes on their back while on the red carpet, especially when their time is so limited. With all the talented women that were housed under one roof at last night’s Golden Globes, surely there was more to discuss. After all, these women are actresses, writers, producers, activists, mothers and human beings that have not only created and participated in award-winning projects, but have lived full lives outside of the entertainment industry. It’s time to let the world know that too!
Yet, when you are loaned a dress worth thousands, and the jewels come with their own personal body-guard for the evening, those designers deserve to get acknowledged. Last nights pre-award’s host/hostess did a good job of keeping that portion brief, and delved into as many more substantial matters as the time allotted permitted.
After last night’s speech I’m sure no one will be making the mistake of asking Meryl Streep, “Who she is wearing?” Way to go, Meryl! You rock. (see below for speech)
Teresa Palmer in Armani Prive // Jessica Chastain in Prada // Mandy Moore in Naeem Khan // Louise Roe in Monique Lhuillier // Amy Adams in Tom Ford //Anna Kendrick in Vionnet // Caitriona Balfe in Delpozzo // Natalie Portman in Prada // Blake Lively in Atelier Versace // Thandie Newton in Monse

Buying the people you work for, with, and whom work for you can be a tricky maneuver. One that requires balancing creativity, decorum and skill. Though budget may be a consideration you always want to give the recipient a gift they’ll love, and that will stand out in the sea of received gifts! Today’s curated list keeps in mind multiple budgets while covering many genres: from Broadway Baker’s sweets-to-die-for (on Oprah’s Best Thing’s List), to Mini Me’s personalized Bobbleheads, to Simone Leblanc’s seasonal gift boxes, ranging in price from $50 to $750.
Shop the list and find a gift they will love at a price you will too!

November came and went before I even had a chance to think about Christmas/Chanukah. But, now that we are settling into December, I can’t ignore that the holidays will be here in the blink of an eye. Gift giving can be as consuming as a full-time job, but one way to lessen the stress level is great planning and starting your shopping early.
My curated list of incredible gifts for the beauty lover in your life (we all have one) can help on both accounts (with more varied lists to come). I can vouch for Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting set and brush – it gives me a glow that comes in handy when my face is in need of a pick-me-up! What I have added to my Santa list is the ZIIP Nano current device. The brainchild of “electrical esthetician” Melanie Simon, ZIIP uses nano-current technology to stimulate elastin and collagen production to produce luminous and lifted skin after one treatment!! Sounds good to me!!
Foreo Luna Mini // Sunday Riley Power Couple Duo Total Transformation Kit // Smith & Cult Lip Trio // Allegresse 24K Gold Illuminating Facial Peel // Net-A-Porter Beauty The Ultimate Beauty Kit // ZIIP Nano Current Device // Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Brush // Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Surreal // Perricone Multi-Action Overnight Treatment

It is down to the wire, and today is the day I am going to wrap up my Christmas shopping. I am feeling the pressure, as I am sure many of you fellow procrastinators are (or just plain too busy), and I want to check all who are on my list off.
I’ve curated this special list composed of everything I would love to see under my tree ( I’m guessing you will know someone too) to support those in my predicament. I’m especially jonesing for the Oscar Maschera Giovanni leather basket, the Maison Du Soir Melbourne Chambrey shirt dress, and the Gypset Trilogy highlighting travel, style and living!
Hope this helps. Good luck to us all!

If you had asked me, “Would I be sporting velvet boots this fall?” before I saw Dries Van Noten’s Fall RTW collection, most likely, the answer would have been no. But, then I did, and then I fell……head over heels that is.
Velvet has reached beyond the holiday limits which once constrained it, venturing out into the everyday fashion world. Being so luxurious and textural, it can elevate a simple pair of jeans or a-line skirt into a blissful heaven of chic! With the Victorian look as hot as it is, its apropos that velvet is this season’s hottest accessory.
Check out my 6 favorite pairs (besides those divine Dries Van Notten’s which are sold out in the US) of this new trend, and elevate all your basics.

Girlfriends are amazing for so many reasons. This weekend in San Francisco/Marin besides having an absolute blast dining, shopping and what-not with my girlfriend, we swapped beauty secrets. I left with my beauty arsenal overflowing.
My favorite new beauty treatment Jill shared was Natura Bisse’s Diamond Ice Lift Mask. The peel-off mask immediately tightens and lifts while redefining facial contours. It left my skin hydrated due to high concentrations of Marine DNA, Rosa mosgueta, wheat germ oils and a multi-vitamin complex. I saw a difference in my skin after just one use.
I also learned about the Eve Lom powder/foundation brush which I am now addicted to. Applying your base with the brush leaves your make-up looking natural, and your skin with an air-brushed glow to it. A must get today!
I shared my latest new make-up find – Smashbox’s Always Sharp Waterproof Nude Liner. Apply to the rims of your bottom inner eyelids, and see your eyes look bigger, brighter and younger instantly. My other fav share was a new trick I learned from the rad make-up artists at Space N K Apothecary — a booster to one of my already favorite treatment masks (Rodial Dragon Blood Hyaluronic Mask). Before applying the mask use Rodial X-Treme Acid Rush Peel, the combo will completely rejuvenate the look of your skin, and unveil a luminous complexion.
Rodial X-Treme Acid Rush Peel $94.00 // Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment $105.00 // Burberry Effortless Brow Definer $33.00 // Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Powder Foundation Brush $45.00 // Natura Bisse Diamond Ice Lift Mask $155.00 // Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof Nude Liner
