My first glances went straight to the streets and buildings of Milan, by passing the impeccable street style captured in the photos. I  haven’t laid eyes on these streets that I strode over for years. I didn’t realize how much I miss this city. How much I long to visit this delectable country. After a much needed trip down memory lane I returned to the inspiration these editors, bloggers and fashion enthusiasts were throwing our way, and I missed it even more.

Lately, my favorite new street style stars are the gorgeous Italian’s Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio. The beginning of this year saw the fashion consultant (Tordini) and designer (Ambrosio) team up, with their vastly different aesthetics, to debut their own fashion line, Attico. Their fall 2016 collection was so successful it is practically sold out. I’m dying to see what these two designers present for next spring!

Silvia Venturini Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld presented another quirkily beautiful ready-to-wear collection for Spring 2017.  Lighter and airier than the house usually is for the season with sheer floral-print dresses, organza blouses with scalloped edges running around the shoulders and sleeves, and most notably apricot ’20s-style silk lingerie-like pieces with cut-out butterflies on their bodices.

There were unique, smartly cut, striped sets with cut out backs and over sized pockets, exquisite leather flower embroidered onto a khaki jacket and a trench coat, but the key looks were floaty ribbon tied aprons exposing gathered pants at the back.

“I like clothes when they move and float about,” he said. As Silvia saw it, the different points of view offered by the aproned front and knickered back were a perfect expression of Fendi’s peekaboo sensibility.”

And, let’s not forget the little frame bags with adorable details: chunky whipstitching, brocade flower-decorated guitar-style straps, rosebuds and  snippets of fur. You can count on a waiting list for these dun ditties.
