I’ve always loved a significant blazer ( Jean Paul Gaultier is the master) be it architecturally structured, of unique fabrication or just simply quirky. Paired with a pair of jeans it can be the difference between a look and a fashion statement. Whether worn as the better half of a suit or as a separate these blazers from NYFW Fall 2016 possess super powers!

Dennis Basso, best known as a fur designer who moved effortlessly over the past few years into evening wear, has now set his sights on a younger clientele. And, with his Fall 2016 collection he just might snag them. Ever mindful of the millennial generation Basso decided to offer a handful of his Fall 2016 gowns for sale right off the runway!
Dresses in panne velvet, lace and charmeuse (also in a fabulous pantsuit) were modern and sexy; as were the gowns, cocktail dresses and evening tops — structured bodices with exaggerated waists — in brocade, feathers and beading. I especially loved the leather and lace combinations as, I’m sure, will the younger clientele he is after.
Basso’s signature furs were still a mainstay of the collection with the highlights being modern vests and exquisite hand-embroidered coats with fur collars, which Basso’s younger clientele will gladly throw on with jeans. (Wouldn’t it be something if he would take a page out of Stella McCartney’s play book and go faux.)
