Yea! Finally, Jon Hamm won an Emmy for his rich portrayal of philandering ad executive Don Draper. So glad I don’t have to swear off the Emmy’s. Phew.

Now on to the red carpet…… For the most part it was a play it safe Emmy’s with black as the color (or non color) of the night. Yellow also paid a visit along with burgundy, a few pant suits and jump suits, and the requisite red — the best being Zoe Kazan in the electric printed Miu Miu.

Modern Family may not have won for best comedy but the young girls of the show — Sarah Hyland, in a breathtaking Zoe Kazan, and Ariel Winter, in a glorious Romona Keveza, were definately winners on the red carpet. Another of my favorite looks came from the even younger Kiernan Shipka in one of Raf Simmons first creations for Christian Dior.

Another popular look were cutout gowns. My favorites were the custom made Alexander Wang worn by the beautiful Taraji P. Henson, and Amanda Peet looking gorgeous in a Michael Kors gown.
