Two trends have emerged so far from New York Fashion Week. Come spring of next year we will be seeing a lot more high-waisted pants – slim legged and full, and white shoes of various silhouettes.White shoes aren’t always the easiest to get just right, but these designers make it look effortless.
In the few days that New York has been pleasantly over run with designers eloquently parading their designs down the runways, more than just a few featured shoes in various shades of white — Altazuura, Derek Lam, Alexander Wang and Honor (loved their pointy toed flats) were some of my favorites.

Just the other day my friend and I were commenting on how all the young girls are wearing high-waisted shorts these days. It made me think how high-waisted pants have been trickling back into fashion over the past few seasons. They have now invaded New York, and are here in full force!!

Alexander Wang’s high-waisted slim legged satin trousers, and Altazurra’s ultra skinny pants (tres sexy even with a gingham shirt) are a modern and refreshing take on slim leg pants. Derek Lam’s slouchier, full legged version have definitely caught my eye, and I’ve a strong suspicion are going to be a prominent silhouette not only this fall, but next spring as well. Another favorite that takes me back to the seventies are Diane von Furstenburg’s indigo denim jeans — with a slimmer and slightly more tailored look. I can picture any of Charlie’s Angels, chasing down the latest criminal for their boss, in these high-waisted flared jeans and looking oh-so-chic while doing so!
