Last night, New York was lit up with the glamor of starlettes at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, in celebration of Charles James (known as the greatest American couturier) whose work will be on display as part of the retrospective exhibit, Charles James: Beyond Fashion.
Participants embraced the theme of the gala, White Tie, the most extravagant of dress codes, with elbow high gloves and sumptuous ball gowns. These are my creme of the crop; I especially love Sarah Jessica Parker in Oscar de la Renta’s take on Charles James iconic dress’. What was your favorite?
