Hercules Be Damned

Before I hunker down for the premiere of Downton Abbey I thought I’d delve into my New Year’s style resolution (more on that later). Then I remembered my friends in the mid-west and back east experiencing the perils of storm Hercules, so I thought curate something chic, cozy and fun for those not living in sunny southern California (it was 70 degrees here today).

I’m waiting for it to get cold enough her so I can wear Theory’s cable knit sweater – great with a pair of jeans, or to dress it up I’ve paired it Donna Karan’s cashmere ivory skirt for a fresh winter white look.

The creme de la creme of this ensemble is Wunderkind’s black reversible shearling coat. Nail two trends in one with this oversized navy parka and its curly striped shearling lining. Turn it inside out and wear as a statement fur coat – so crazy, wild and fun!!! (alternative reality here) Aquatalia by Marvin K’s suede rabbit fur lace-up waterproof boots will keep feet uber warm while looking super.

Finishing touches of leather gloves – love Cynthia Rowley’s elongated leather gloves with elastic gathers made for those chilly days, and Cole Haan’s black cashmere scarf to keep bundled-up and warm in the worst of storms. Hercules be damned!

Clockwise from top left: Theory Innis Cable Sweater $285.00 Otte, Donna Karan Stretch-Cashmere Tube Maxi Skirt $995.00 Net-a-Porter, Aquatalia By Marvin K Suede Rabbit Fur Lace-Up Boot $598.00 on sale for $418.00 Bergdorf Goodman, Cole Haan Cashmere Scarf $128.00 on sale for $99.95, Cynthia Rowley Leather Gloves $195.00, Wunderkind Black Reversible Shearling Coat $4825.00 on sale for $2415.00 Avenue32.com.
