The September issues of fashion magazines are one of the rare exceptions where you don’t mind the barrage of ads that begin the issues. The ads can be as creative and stimulating as the editorials where the stylists/editors imaginations are allowed to roam free.

So many ingenious, visionary and clever advertising graced fashion’s bible-like September issues for the preview of Fall/Winter 2013 collections this year I was plain kiddy while I slowly (as to savor the moments) took them in.

It was most difficult to choose a favorite but Balenciaga’s Fall/Winter 2013/14 Campaign sublimely photographed by Steven Klein which stars Kristen McMenamy won my prize for its visually stunning, delicately provocative and simple in design, black and white campaign.

Close runner ups were Louis Vuitton’s campaign, featuring Gisele Bundchen, Isabeli Fontana, Karen Elson, and Carolyn Murphy and lensed brilliantly by Steven Meisel. Can you guess which model is Giselle? She’s the lounging brunette on your left. You would have known!!

And, Stella McCartney’s savvy voyage with surrealism is so fun and novel. Love the choice of models, Suvi Koponen and Chiharu Okunugi; the photos shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott are stunning and full of excitement.
