I’ve always had an admiration for Chloe and its simple, modern take on femininity. Every season my love for Chloe has grown exponentially as Clare Waight Keller’s (on her 5th season) footing, as head designer, gets more and more steadfast.
With its relaxed proportions and soft layering, it is easy to see why Waight Keller described the collection as her “barefoot attitude.” Indeed, many girls wore ankle strap flats with the straps modeled on the cuffs that tether surfers to their boards, or inspired spa shoes with a gleaming gold band.
Pants, which Clare has always seen as her Chloe staple, were ever-present in a variety of silhouettes. The ankle cropped style with folded pleats were fluid yet structural. My standout pants were the high-waisted, floppy version in Super 120s men’s suiting wool – worn with the button down white blouse were simply divine.
Waight Keller had this to say about her collection of easy dresses, soft layers, larger pants and cropped tops: “it’s easy for me to wear, I’m not a supermodel proportion, and it’s obviously bringing a versatility to other women as well.”
Seems she is not only talented and beautiful, she’s got brains too!
