Carven – The Rise Of A House (Again)

Guillaume Henry, the creative director  for Carven since 2009, had a breakout collection this Spring/Summer 2012. The crowds at his shows have gotten bigger and bigger, and no doubt will continue growing. Henry has mastered the Carven woman who is young(ish), sexy and uber cool. She loves to flirt but is equally strong and self-assured. He describes her as He describes the Carven girl as a “girl with a free spirit but likes to be elegant” and adds that his creations are “perfect for any woman who wants to be attractive without showing too much.”

Spring/Summer’s 2012 highlights were more of the fun, short and flirty skirts he has become known for, high-waisted shorts in Jacquard prints and leather, dresses with below the bust cutouts, zig-zag prints and tightly fitted, well-tailored blazers — loved the black blazer worn with orange red lace skirt and zigzag dickey ensemble!!

With the opening of his first store last year on Rue Saint Sulpice in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, and with celebrities such as Demi Moore, Gwyneth  Paltrow and Leighton Meester donning his creations, Guillaume Henry and Carven are names we will be hearing a lot more of in the future.
