Before we move on to Paris’ Fall/Winter 2012 collections, I ‘d like to leave you with a recap of Dolce & Gabbana’s. They are the masters of celebrating femininity, at all ages, keeping it powerful and all with a healthy dose of respect.
This collection was a celebration of their beloved Italy – most specifically the religious overtones of Sicily – with its renditions of caped priest coats, allusions to altar lace and luxurious golden embroidery. I loved the combination of lace and brightly colored floral pieces that were reminiscent of vintage needle points. But these were not matronly tapestries, they were infused with a healthy dose of sex appeal which Stephano and Domenico are famous for.
