Top Trends In Women’s Outerwear- Fall/Winter 2012

Heading into the Fall/Winter 2012 season, there seems to be a trend for every type of women’s outerwear. Trend Report — The Pointy Pump

The latest fashion trend to come from the Mad Men (Sunday’s On AMC) craze is the pointy pump. This spring the sexy 50′s silhouette comes in a multitude of colors and heel heights — some as high as 5 inches.

Pumps most attractive benefit is their versatility, they can compliment most any outfit — from all your work clothes to your boyfriend and favorite skinny jeans, to skirts and cigarette black pants. Another benefit, what these shoes can do to a pair of legs is something else — they  have a seriously sexy vibe.

Need another plus? This trend isn’t going anywhere — J Crew recently revealed Manalo Blahnik’s collection of pumps for next years fall lineup. The styles will still be quite pricey but will come in a variety of prints and colors new to Blahnik. But there is no need to wait until then, in the mean time enjoy the multitude of styles and colors in stores now. I’ve put together a selection of a few of my favorites.

This Week’s Wish List

Such an overcast and rainy week had me daydreaming about spring all week-long. This week’s covetables are not only full of shiny bright colors and the coolness of summer whites but some bedazzling sparkle too. I went all out in my Q of If I could I woulds this week, but there are a few goodies that are doable on even tight budgets. Vince Camuto’s Allik rose gold sandals for $98.00 just might be a necessity and the must have book for every architecture buff– Architecture In Time Of Need- Make It Right Rebuilding Of New Orleans Lower 9th Ward (Brad Pitt’s foundation)–are every bit as enticing as Theyskens’ Theory’s out-of-this-world beaded Jala jacket. Make sure to check out the Warby Parker sunglasses, they’re the Toms of glasses — for every pair of glasses they sell, they provide a pair to someone in need.

  Favorite Resort 2012 Looks

It’s a new year and a time to look forward towards new beginnings, and what better to start us on our journey than the prelude to spring – Resort 2012. These our my 21 favorite looks from the Resort 2012 collections, the ones I would die to add to my wardrobe (hopefully a few of them will). But even the ones that don’t make it into my closet will make for great inspiration while I am planning my spring wardrobe and updating my style.

I recommend going over to Style.com and perusing the Resort and Spring 2012 collections to get your inspiration. It’s a wealth of imagery that will inspire many ideas. Trend Report – Leather

Chic and stylish, leather is showing up everywhere and no longer just in the accessories department. Seen in almost all designers Fall/Winter 2011 collections, it also made a strong showing in Spring/Summer 2012.

Leather is trending strong and not just in jackets. The trend has branched out and you can find amazing pieces in shirts, shorts, tops and dresses, all in a variety of price points. With the plethora of styles showing up -  metallics, laser-cuts, colors, and trimmings – there’s a leather investment piece out there for everyone. No longer relegated  to some punkster’s wardrobe, now ultra feminine and glamorous, everyone can get in on the leather craze.
