Get The Look For Less: Naomi Watts

Stella McCartney, along with her closest pals (most of whom are celebrities) celebrated the opening of her New York flagship store in Soho on Monday, January 9th. Stella transformed the boutique into an intimate dinner venue where Mario Batali put together a meat free feast. The night was an ode to Manhattan with a vegetarian dinner that was playfully served on miniature boats, which floated through a customized table moat that also featured ice sculptures of New York City landmarks and a Manhattan skyline backdrop.

Liv Tyler, Naomi Watts, Lauren Bush-Lauren and Anna Wintour dropped in to pay their homage and welcome Stella to SoHo. Liv and Naomi, who both were dressed in head to toe Stella McCartney, spent most of the night laughing and chatting at the event which also featured a Perrier-Jouët champagne fountain.

Naomi chose a floral-patterned mini, topped with a two-tone coat, tights and sculptural contrast-platform heels to fete her friend. The final price tag on her ensemble rings in at over $2500, check out our options to get the look for less.

Get The Look For Less: Cameron Diaz in Bad Teacher

Cameron Diaz looked stunning while in Moscow to promote her new movie Bad Teacher. She was seen dolled up in J Brand jeans with a linen tee layered under her tweed Chanel jacket and bright Casadei pumps. The outfit was a perfect pick for the casual photo-call, especially the classic jacket that looks as though it were chosen to match Moscow’s Kremlinesque skyline! The bright coral pumps add the perfect punch of color to the neutral palate and her matching lipstick proves her stylist pays attention to detail.

In the movie Cameron’s character plays a bad teacher who has good style– maybe we could learn a thing or two about fashion by watching this flick. Cameron plays the role of a booze-swilling, pot-smoking, foul-mouthed teacher in the movie, yet manages to look incredibly chic all the while ( Though we don’t know many teachers that can afford Christian Louboutin shoes). The slim-fitting nude pencil skirt and mock turtleneck look fairly tame for teaching standards–but it’s the edgy shoes that lend the outfit an aire of sass.

We wonder how many apples this teacher gets?

We’ve curated a list of our picks to get Cameron’s looks for less:

From My Closet To Yours- Styling Tips By Kristin

The Pencil Skirt

A staple in every well curated closet, the pencil skirt can be worn anywhere from a top CEO’s business meeting to dancing at the Soho House or on a first date at Capo in Santa Monica.

Switching from a classic to an edgier look is easy-a change of shoes, jewelry, tops or jackets-making the pencil skirt a piece you’ll get many miles from. A true investment piece.

I found examples in two different price points but it’s easy to find in most designers collections or stores ranging from The Limited to Barneys New York. This is a piece worth having in more than one color-black and camel to start with-and after purchasing a classic style, it’s fun to add one with edgier details-fake zipper pockets, high-low hems or kick pleats in the back.
