Why Is Brandi Carlile Not A Household Name?

With a powerhouse voice as strong and passionate as Adele, it’s a wonder Brandi Carlile isn’t burning up the charts like the contemporary pop star. But…….. with the release of her latest album, Bear Creek, all that could (and should) change.

Grey’s Anatomy fans will recognize her voice from her many tunes that graced the show, including her emotive single, The Story (from her second album) where her earthy and elegant voice can rattle the beams with her belted soul. In Rolling Stone magazine Sheryl Crow eloquently describes Carlile’s voice as, “the most amazing voice I may have ever heard. Soulful. Country. Perfect in every way…. and propelled by taste.” And it is that same, unmistakable voice that shakes you at your core from the very first listen of Bear Creek.

Comprised of songs inspired by faith, heartache, addiction, childhood, accidental piano chords and thunderstorms, Bear Creek, produced by Trina Shoemaker (Sheryl Crow, Queens of the Stone Age) promises to be Carlile’s most revealing and personal record to date “It scares me how much of who we are is in this album.”

My brother, Jack Bungart, interviewed her a year ago and she revealed to him that her heroes are Johnny Cash – she belts out an awesome Folsom Prison Blues nearly every performance -  and Elton John – her rendition of 60 Years On is not to be missed.

Carlile’s unflinching delivery and her adaptability to timeless rock, country, folk and pop is going to make her a huge star. But don’t trust me, listen for your self. I promise you’ll thank me!!
