Memorial Day: Freedom and Fashion

Memorial Day is almost here-which means it’s time to wear white and add some fun color to the wardrobe because summer is on its way!

Many of you will be heading to the beach or a backyard BBQ this weekend and because the weather is still in transition it is always smart to pack a couple of layers. We love the cotton stretch dress by Minnie Rose which accessorizes well with a fun scarf or jewelry. Pair the dress with a cashmere duster cardigan for evening and to look even more on trend add a belt over the sweater.

Plaid is always a hot look for Memorial Day-look for plaids with navy or red and you will instantly look patriotic and summer ready…you can even accessorize with a piece of cherry pie!

To accessorize this weekend pick either a fun red sandal to add pop to your white outfit or a classic summer espadrille. Bring an oversized tote bag to carry extra layers and a straw hat just in case you’re outside most of the day.

Have fun with fashion this weekend but lets not forget to take time to reflect on our past and present troops and celebrate with friends and family in how fortunate we are to have the freedoms that they have fought for.

Get The Look For Less: Minka Kelly

Minka Kelly looks perfectly chic as she celebrates her Off-Broadway debut at the Love, Loss and What I Wore Premiere. The actress wore a perfect ensemble of gray James Jeans Jeggings, a sparkling striped top and draped blazer.

We love the element of edge the jeggings add to her elegant top and blazer-think sugar and spice. The nude patent leather platform heels complete her ensemble and look casual yet chic. Her make-up is glowing and the waves in her hair even mimic the drapes on the jacket–what can we say other than we can’t wait to see her fashion sequel (i.e. Love, Loss and What I Wore Next).

One of the many things we love about Minka’s outfit is that the pieces are classics and can be incorporated into a Spring wardrobe to complete many other looks. Imagine the draped blazer over a floral belted dress with those patent leather heels. The top would be adorable tucked into high-waisted flared jeans and the jeggings could be dressed down with an oversized boxy linen tee. One outfit…endless possibilities.

Here are our picks to get Minka’s look for less.
