Golden Globe Dresses than Sparkle and Shine Like The Stars

Tonight sets off the fury of awards show with the Golden Globes. We will be front and center in front our flat screen watching what is for us the true highlight of the evening – the parade of celebrities walking the red carpet premiering their chose of evening gowns. (Red carpet starts at 3:00 on E! and Golden Globes at 5:00 on NBC – PST)

With bright colors being so popular the past few seasons and this upcoming spring season, we are curious to see how many vibrant colors we will see. We have put together a selection of gowns we think the nominees should don this evening. You’ll notice we chosen a rainbow-like selection of colors with much glitter and shine. Will the dresses tonight shine and sparkle as much as the stars of the evening?

We have hours to go to see how on target our selections were. Did any celebrities parade your choices down the red carpet? Did you see the gowns you tought should have been worn or some you think should have stayed on their hanger? Let us know your accolades/critiques!

Designer Profile: Our Picks From The Cannes Film Festival

Celebs brought their A-game to the South of France this week for one of the most glamorous film festivals in the world. View their fashionable entrances in our favorite designer picks worn at the opening ceremony of the 64th Cannes International Film Festival and the screening of Woody Allen’s ‘Midnight in Paris’.

Uma Thurman looking fabulous in a white Versace feather trimmed gown.

The Italian label Versace, branded by the signature medusa motif and founded by the late Gianni Versace in 1978, has always epitomized over-the-top sexiness and glamour.

Israeli model Hofit Golan wore an embellished silver gown by Alberta Ferretti.

Alberta Ferretti is known for her designs featuring twisting, tucking, and draping techniques. Her style employs a subtle layered look, sometimes showing a hint of hand-beaded gauze which extends slightly beneath the hem of a dress.

Rachel’s Marchesa dress looked stunning from the back as she arrived in an embroidered red silk organza and tulle dress by Marchesa, seen here with co-star Michael Sheen and director of ‘Midnight In Paris’ Woody Allen.

Elegant eveningwear, inspired by vintage and Asian influences, defines the Marchesa Collection. The beautifully crafted designs fuse high fashion with an eclectic aesthetic. Co-founded by Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, the company’s namesake and muse, Marchesa Luisa Casati, is the noted eccentric European style icon.

Belle of the Ball- Best Dressed At The Oscars!

There were no major flops at Sunday’s night Oscar ceremony, with even Helen Bonham Carter looking pretty. No major risks were taken on the red carpet, kinda like the winners, but the one stand out in our minds was Sandra Bullock. She may have won the Oscar last year but this year she receives ” The Best Dressed” award. We have never seen her looking so strong, vibrant and beautiful and boy does she deserve it after the year she has experienced. Her Scarlett-the color of the night-gown was designed by Vera Wang and worn with Harry Winston diamonds and a VBH clutch. Truly the belle of the ball.

With so many stunning gowns to choose from we could have shown a dozen dresses, easily, but we narrowed it down to six.

Gwyneth Paltrow looked statuesque in a low-cut Calvin Klein Collection column dress that highlighted her hair and was perfectly paired with a Louis Vuitton brooch, ring and earrings. Speaking of highlighting one’s hair, Amy Adam’s Navy L’Wren Scott was too die for. She wore it with 1.3 million dollars worth of Cartier jewelry-a whole other kind of highlight. Her Cartier platinum and diamond Haute Joaillerie secret watch bracelet was valued at over a million dollars, teamed with 2-carat diamond stud earrings, worth $35,000, and a Cartier platinum and diamond necklace with a carved 33.24-carat emerald, worth approximately $290,000. Stunning indeed!!

Reese Witherspoon, wearing Armani Prive, was a throw back to the sixties-she reminded us of our favorite Barbie doll, though Barbie should have had it so good. Her elegant pony tail and Neil Lane jewelry were the perfect accents. Age appropriate Hailee Steinfeld looked delightful in a princess dress with crystal embroidery-though I don’t know how age appropriate it is to have Marchessa custom design a gown for you, but hey, it was the Oscars. She accessorized with jewelry by Fred Leighton, a head band and Ferragamo shoes. Hailee will definitely be one to watch in the future. Rounding out our selections was the always knock-out gorgeous Mila Kunis. Her lavender Elie Saab Couture gown was the right amount of sexiness combined with romantic elegance. Mila wore Neil Lane diamond danglers and tennis bracelet.

Now, if only the awards could have been as exciting as the fashion!
