Guest Editor Chelsea: Luxe Lace Trends

The lace trend will be seen more than ever this Fall 2012 season. Lace has always been a classic staple, most frequently adorned on formal blouses and cocktail dresses. What I love most about the trend this season -  the creative use of lace mixed with multi-colored layers, color-blocking, and unusual texture combinations (which was seen earlier this year in the designer runway shows).

My style tips: to spice up a classic lace cocktail dress this Holiday season simply add a vibrant purple or emerald slip underneath. Pair a basic lace blouse with denim or patterned jeans for an everyday look that can go from day to evening. Mix feminine lace blouses with a leather jacket or leather accents to give your outfit contrast and edge.

The best way to get the most compliments on your lace trend…have fun and be creative!

Guest Editor Chelsea – DVF’s Pre-Fall Collection

Diane von Furstenberg Pre-Fall 2012Diane von Furstenberg Pre-Fall 2012Diane von Furstenberg Pre-Fall 2012Diane von Furstenberg Pre-Fall 2012Diane von Furstenberg Pre-Fall 2012Diane von Furstenberg Pre-Fall 2012

Temperatures are rising and Summer is officially here -and if you’re at all like me you’re thrilled to be wearing barely-there skirts and dresses like they are going out of style. The whole notion of dressing for the season can be a bit confusing however when you walk into a boutique or department store and Summer’s already on sale and Pre-Fall is starting to arrive.

You don’t have to wait until the temperatures drop to wear Pre-Fall’s amazing looks. In fact, the great thing about Pre-Fall ready-to-wear collections is many of the designs embody colors and shapes that are transitional and can be layered for warmth once Fall is officially here.

The Diane Von Furstenberg Pre-Fall Collection is a great example of trends that could virtually work for Summer or Fall and it’s stocked with offbeat color combos that are incredibly chic.  The collection is deceptively expensive-looking, and couture-like touches pull together the perfect pieces.

DVF Pre-Fall Collection is available at Chelsea Brentwood 11704 Barrington Court, Los Angeles, CA 90049 (310)471-4770 www.chelseabrentwood.com.

Hot Fun In The Summer — 6 Awe-Inspiring Bikinis

Girls, it’s time to add those extra ab crunches and lunges to your work out, get plenty of H20 for luminous skin and rid yourself of pasty white skin with your favorite faux tanner. Spring is here and soon the beaches will beckon, luring us to their shores with the promise of cooler air and warm sand between our toes.

To top off your newly toned, tanned skin you’ll need an awe-inspiring new swim suit. If I feel brave enough I’m going to add the white Vitamin A bandeau bikini from Everything But The Water. But if not, Missoni’s  Zig Zag bikini is right up there on my bikini wish list.

For those of you who want to sport a one piece without feeling old school, monokini’s are still trending strong. Another strong trend in this year’s swimsuits, prints — flower, stripes, aztec — you name it, it’s  out there. Get ready for some Hot Fun In The Summertime!!

The Perfect Hostess Gift

The Holiday’s are creeping up on us and tis the season for parties, work events, and family gatherings. According to Miss Manners, the secret to a packed party calendar is to impress your hostess. For a status quo gift a nice bottle of wine will surely do the trick , but to really make an impression, you need a little creativity and advance planning.

Go for a twist of sophisticated 70′s chic with the Chainlink Rectangle Large Tray. A DVF classic, use it to top your own coffee table or as a gift to impress even the most discerning hostess.

Kate Spade’s adorable and cheerfully colorful coasters make the ultimate party gift. Each one is gold embossed with a party phrase like, “I’ll cheers to that” or “make it a double”. Perfect for getting the conversations and libations flowing.

For the world traveler, Louise Vuitton has created the ultimate hostess gift — a luxurious guide book with major cities like London, Dubai and Paris offered in bright-colored albums that will sure to be coveted.

For the Las Vegas lover, Hermes has created the ultimate poker card set presented in their ultra-luxurious signature orange box.

From My Closet To Yours – Styling tips By kristin

This past weekend I went pre-fall shopping and scored some dynamite clothes I want to share with you – I even got Chelsea in on the act. Our first stop was one of my favorite stores, Barneys New York, where there was so much we wanted to take home, but we restrained ourselves and each left with our favorite piece.  Chelsea scored a vivid cobalt blue silk romper with a skirt overlay from Mason By Michelle Mason – it sets off her blue eyes like nobody’s business. She can wear it now with sandals and in the fall with tights and a leather jacket. I purchased a cozy gray kimono cardigan by Vince that I will save for fall – unless I end up on a late night run to the beach and have nobody to keep me warm.

Next, over cappuccinos at Cafe Luxe we hit some of our favorite online stores  – Top Shop, Net-A-Porter and Diane Von Furstenberg. We found some great bargains and some  have-to-have pieces – namely an Eugenia Kim Carly rabbit felt hat from Net-A-Porter and a Diane Von Furstenberg martini wool-blend boucle pencil skirt that had my name on it.

We did find some bargains too, Top Shop had a blue heart lock cross body frame bag that Chelsea fell for and was only $50.00. (also comes in red). And I found a pair of Andre wedge lace-up boots for $136.00 that I am sure to live in this fall.

Hopefully, one or all of these inspired you to break out the credit cards and start your pre-fall shopping – any one (or more) of them will make great additions to your Fall wardrobe.

Happy Shopping!!
