I have an update to last Saturdays post, From My Closet To Yours – Styling Tips By Kristin, everyone has been asking me who the photographer was that took the picture of me. She is an AMAZING photographer, Alexander Defurio, and I never look as good as when she takes my photo (the same can be said for most of the people she photographs).
With the holidays coming up I wanted to pass on her info – www.defuriophotography.com 310 – 227- 2337, not only does she do great holiday cards but any portraits you need will easily be the best you’ll ever have.
Happy Shopping!! Kristin
We ran into our habitually chic girlfriend, accessory designer Cynthia Desser, on her way back from shopping at Lost and Found in Hollywood yesterday. She had just purchased these crazy fantastic boots we fell in love with (Dusica Kotur Saks Black Boot below). A new designer to us, Dusica Dusica, we immediately found out the skinny on them and had to share.
Dusica Sacks, born in Belgrade, has an obsession for shoes and a passion for beauty. She studied the arts and lived in Italy and Belgrade till a visit to New York had her enthralled with the city and it became her new home. While in New York she expanded her education from fine arts to design, and struggled to decide between fashion, interior design and photography. Fashion was the obvious choice because as she explains it, ” it is the art that you can enjoy every moment of a day, by wearing, touching, feeling and looking at it almost every sense is satisfied”
Dusica, along with business partner and former Prada gal Alexandra Hahn, opened their futuristic, austere boutique – located at the corners of Prince and Crosby streets in Soho New York - as the first American showcase for her original, edgy creations. They having been growing steadily and have made a name for themselves with designs that are the antithesis of the status heels of Gucci or Manolo and for their use of exotic skins and leathers like angora, crocodile, and pony.
Other staples she is quickly becoming known for is her year round ballet flats that come in a rainbow of colors and variations, and in the accessories department, buttery leather bags that tend toward wearable, basic styles like slouchy totes and hobo purses. And with such limited quantities produced, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone wearing an identical pair – gotta love that. The only downside is, as of yet, they aren’t easy to be found outside the boutique but they can be found in Los Angeles at Lost and Found - 6314 Yucca Street Los Angeles, CA 90028 (323)856-5872 – and online at Taigon and her bridge line – Dusica Kotur Sacks – at YOOX.
There is no doubt in our minds that this unique, edgy designer is going to be on the lips of major trends setters very soon.
