This Spring season I am obsessed with handbag designer Deux Lux. I have re-ordered them numerous times for my Los Angeles boutique and am stopped daily on the street when I wear my own. I got my first pair of AGL ballet flats two years ago as a birthday gift from my mom and have been hooked on the brand ever since. They have literally “walked a thousand miles” with me…and to this day, my first pair still look brand new! They are the most comfortable shoes you will ever put on and I feel so passionate about them that I recently started selling them at my boutique in Brentwood.

Passion is a hereditary gene that has guided the Giusti family for over 50 years in the creation of shoes. AGL’s founder Piero Giusti’s three granddaughters—Sara, Vera, and Marianna—run the Italy based company today. According to Vera, “The Attilio Giusti Leombruni woman all over the world is creative chic: she adapts current fashions to her personal style – a style that should be desirable but never showy. I am completely obsessed with Vita Fede jewelry-a classic and sophisticated line with a modern edge twist (rock & roll meets Tiffany). A fusion of American, European and Asian cultures inspire each design, which are meant to be mixed, matched and layered.

Each piece from the collection has been hand crafted and finished in gold, silver or gunmetal plate. The Capri 5 leather wrap bracelet features a gunmetal, rose gold and sterling silver curb chain on bronze lamb leather. This is my favorite piece from the collection because it can also be worn as a necklace and the variety of colors to choose make it easy to fit one’s own personal style.

Vita Fede’s most popular style is the Titan bracelet, a 24k gold-plated bracelet featuring a swarovski cone detail with hinge closure. It is timeless, glamorous and even makes the Cartier Love bracelet look a little old school.

60 years after his family stepped foot on the Malibu sand, founder Garrett, taking inspiration from his great grandmother, wanted to showcase his Malibu heritage through clothing design.  His grandmother, a fashionista clad in high heels and accustomed to a socialite lifestyle, surrounded by the likes of Frank Sinatra and Clark Gable, founded the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. Getting his start by designing uniforms for the ranch employees, Garrett found he could create “wearable art.” While co-founder Jesse Ray, originally on the track to law school, found his call to fashion when he learned the process behind production. Although he describes himself as a “bookworm,” his excitement in discovering that fashion was a new form of expression was vital to the brand’s success.

Sjobeck is a collaborative expression of Garrett and Jesse Ray’s love of both the arts and the entrepreneurial spirit. Their innovative designs never follow the trends and stand on their own through their unique screen-printing techniques and their willingness to push the envelope. The line works however, because there truly is a piece in the collection for everyone. As a buyer looking at the line for my store I found myself intrigued and in awe of many of the designs that were too risky for my Brentwood clientele…like art, many of the designs either speak to you or do not. At the end of the day, I respect smaller lines (like Sjobeck) that have solid vision and values and can stand on their own next to the DVF’s and Joie’s of the world.

Get The Look For Less – Ashley Tisdale’s California Cool Look

Last week, Ashley Tisdale, best known for the “High School Musical” movies, was caught rocking a California casual vibe while grabbing a cup of joe in Los Angeles. Ashley donned Free People’s wildly popular faux shearling distressed leather bomber jacket paired with the ideal pair of boots - Jeffery Campbell’s Cavalier western ankle boot with stitch detail (must have been inspired by Isabel Marant’s Berry boot, but much more affordable).

Ashley added a pop of color with her Givenchy red (one of Fall’s strong hue trends) oversized Nightingale shopper. Add a pair of skinny stretch jeans (make sure to cuff above the boot) and comfy, super soft tee and you’re good to go. Loved how she added the perfect amount of trinkets for the finishing touches.
