Watch out Hollywood! There’s a new style starlet in town and she’s creative, unpredictable and completely courageous with her fashion-which is anything but blauzay. Emma Stone has been acting for years now, however, just recently we’ve noticed she’s joined the big leagues in the fashion world.
Emma Stone was seen donning the red carpet at the W magazine pre-Golden Globes bash in a long-sleeved, color-blocked cocktail dress by Lanvin Spring 2012. The banded tri-colour nude, black and rose stretch silk dress with embroidered crystal snake motif wrapped around her neck was an unconventional choice with a dash of edge that highlighted her emerging stronger sense of style.
Looking cheerful in an emerald Gucci band jacket, stud-adorned smoking trousers, chain link T-straps and Tiffany & Co. jewels,The Help star acquires the award for favorite movie actress at the People’s Choice Awards.
With her film The Help nominated for best motion picture (drama), the redhead wore a plunging eggplant gown with contrasting red accents, a dramatic belt and crystal-studded heels – all by Lanvin – topped off with a Cartier clutch to the Golden Globe Awards.
Emma Stone made an appearance at the World Wide Orphans Foundation in New York, looking like a sophisticated woman in her Calvin Klein Collection black silk-crepe blouse and gold satin jacquard pleat skirt.
There were no major flops at Sunday’s night Oscar ceremony, with even Helen Bonham Carter looking pretty. No major risks were taken on the red carpet, kinda like the winners, but the one stand out in our minds was Sandra Bullock. She may have won the Oscar last year but this year she receives ” The Best Dressed” award. We have never seen her looking so strong, vibrant and beautiful and boy does she deserve it after the year she has experienced. Her Scarlett-the color of the night-gown was designed by Vera Wang and worn with Harry Winston diamonds and a VBH clutch. Truly the belle of the ball.
With so many stunning gowns to choose from we could have shown a dozen dresses, easily, but we narrowed it down to six.
Gwyneth Paltrow looked statuesque in a low-cut Calvin Klein Collection column dress that highlighted her hair and was perfectly paired with a Louis Vuitton brooch, ring and earrings. Speaking of highlighting one’s hair, Amy Adam’s Navy L’Wren Scott was too die for. She wore it with 1.3 million dollars worth of Cartier jewelry-a whole other kind of highlight. Her Cartier platinum and diamond Haute Joaillerie secret watch bracelet was valued at over a million dollars, teamed with 2-carat diamond stud earrings, worth $35,000, and a Cartier platinum and diamond necklace with a carved 33.24-carat emerald, worth approximately $290,000. Stunning indeed!!
Reese Witherspoon, wearing Armani Prive, was a throw back to the sixties-she reminded us of our favorite Barbie doll, though Barbie should have had it so good. Her elegant pony tail and Neil Lane jewelry were the perfect accents. Age appropriate Hailee Steinfeld looked delightful in a princess dress with crystal embroidery-though I don’t know how age appropriate it is to have Marchessa custom design a gown for you, but hey, it was the Oscars. She accessorized with jewelry by Fred Leighton, a head band and Ferragamo shoes. Hailee will definitely be one to watch in the future. Rounding out our selections was the always knock-out gorgeous Mila Kunis. Her lavender Elie Saab Couture gown was the right amount of sexiness combined with romantic elegance. Mila wore Neil Lane diamond danglers and tennis bracelet.
Now, if only the awards could have been as exciting as the fashion!
