The strength of Hervé Léger’s extremely hot bandage dress has gained instant recognition over the years. Designers Max and Lubov Azria stayed fairly classic with their color palette for their Fall 2011 collection – beige, nude, sand, black, chocolate brown, and cream – allowing for the major hardware on display to do the talking. The Azrias describe the Fall 2011 collection as “an inimitable suit of armor,” in reference to their usage of gold and silver hardware. Dresses and gowns are striped with gold rectangles sewn in between bands of material, and covered with buckle rings and chains woven into the fabric. The collection is refreshingly different and worth every penny…if you have a lot of them.
Other items in the collection feature chunky gold hardware, silver chains, leather studs or cut-out detailing. Bandage dresses are staples at this point and always will be. In fact, it’s nearly impossible to come across a red carpet or go to a New York hot spot without spotting at least a handful of Herve Leger looks.
