A.L.C. Howlite Earrings

ALC Howlite Double Sided Earings $160.00 www.saksfifthavenue.com

A.L.C makes my favorite t-shirts, and we all know their RTW collections are  innovative and always contain at least one must have piece of the season. So it came as no surprise that Andrea Lieberman was named one of the 2012 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists.

What I wasn’t aware of was how cutting edge her jewelry collection is. For example, these earrings featuring howlite bullet cabochons in a radiant setting and connected with a delicate link chain on both sides of your ear lobes are unique and simple enough to make them your go to earring this spring.

Summer Styling Tips

Allesandro Ambrosio looks summer ready in her Tolani print strapless dress. The mixture of prints is a great way to add a touch of pizzaz to a summer dress, but if you find this trend tricky to pull off you are in luck -  this  Tolani dress does it for you. The hi-lo hem updates a strapless silhouette with a modern and fresh feel.

Kelly Rutherford, seen here at a NYC screening for Farewell, My Queen, adds depth and a tiny bit of edge (while keeping it minimal) to a LWD by accessorizing with different shades of the same hue – tan and brown. Hermes handbag an Lanvin shoes.

Olivia Palermo, at Christian Dior’s Haute Couture show in Paris last week (in all Dior), proves that a leather top can be summer friendly. The key, keep the top sleeveless and pairing it with a pair of shorts helps to ensure your look reads summer not fall.

Jennifer Lawrence (in Dior), also at the Christian Dior Haute Couture show in Paris, does justice to the lady-like trend in the print du jour – florals. Choose a dress with a fuller skirt and a few inches above the knee to keep the look young and fresh. Keeping the floral print in one color will maintain that feminine feel.

Miranda Kerr takes basics and gives them a healthy dose of pizzaz. Her A.L.C cropped trousers get a face-lift with tuxedo stripes, giving her sleeveless Equipment shirt ensemble some serious sex appeal. Manolo Blahnik pointy toe pumps and Stella McCartney sunglasses take this sexy look and adds a shot chicness.

Michelle Williams at Comic-Con 2012, adds a pop of color to her black and white floral print Giulietta Resort dress with raspberry Giuseppe Zanotti platform heels. The trapeze silhouette needs a healthy flash of legs to keep it from becoming too matronly. Make sure the shoes are on the chunkier side to keep the dress fun and light.

From My Closet To Yours – Styling Tips By Kristin

  Favorite Resort 2012 Looks

It’s a new year and a time to look forward towards new beginnings, and what better to start us on our journey than the prelude to spring – Resort 2012. These our my 21 favorite looks from the Resort 2012 collections, the ones I would die to add to my wardrobe (hopefully a few of them will). But even the ones that don’t make it into my closet will make for great inspiration while I am planning my spring wardrobe and updating my style.

I recommend going over to Style.com and perusing the Resort and Spring 2012 collections to get your inspiration. It’s a wealth of imagery that will inspire many ideas. Which designer is your favorite? Whose collection resonates with you? Do you see a style that “says you” or maybe there’s a designer whose “look” you’ve been wanting to try?

Whether you want to fine tune your style or do a total overhaul – a fresh, new beginning – this is a great time to start! Let me know who inspires you this season.

Spring’s Skirts

Get out the self-tanner and hit the gym gals, because skirts are a big trend this Spring!  There is something so chic and breezy about a really great skirt, paired with the right top, they can easily take you from work to a night out on the town.

The two predominant trends in skirts for the Spring 2011 season, are the  midi and mini. The midi can be tricky; if you’re on the shorter side it’s important to have them tailored so they are  slim fitting and on the shorter side of the midi length, which will elongate your silhouette.

Draped mini skirts and Spring-time prints always look sophisticated for day…save the black mini for evening! The high-waisted flounce mini will create a fun, flirty look.

We recommend a fitted blazer for work and a 3/4 sleeve leather jacket or extra long sheer cardigan to finish off the look for play.
