The Opening Night Of Moca’s The Painting Factory

Saturday night was the opening night party for Moca’s The Painting Factory: Abstraction After Warhol, on view from April 29 through August 20, 2012. The exhibition features works by Andy Warhol, DAS INSTITUT (Kerstin Brätsch and Adele Röder), Urs Fischer, Wade Guyton, Glenn Ligon, Julie Mehretu plus more, and examines the recent metamorphosis of abstract painting into one of the most dynamic platforms in contemporary art.

The compelling art was a feast for the eyes and the trip down town will be worth every minute spent in traffic. Not only was the exhibition memorizing but the night’s fashions were unique, creative and a delight to behold.  I could have taken a slew of photos but chose to share these three in the vein of celebrating creativity.

Shana Sarin (first photo), has a vintage resale shop on Etsy - Trustfund 21 – make sure to check it out it’s fabulous (everything vintage she is wearing is from there) — she has graciously extended a 10% discount to all our readers (simply use code “bloglove10″). Her boho chic outfit consists of a Vintage cropped kimono (so creative), Zara tank and shoes, vintage Levi cut offs and vintage bracelets and purse. She was as delightful as her ensemble suggests.

Teresa Herrera (second photo), model and T.V host/executive producer of Runway T.V Asia, is obviously a fashion-forward woman with a special fashion flair. She wore a vintage Marni fur coat that I have not stopped thinking of – it is do die for – completing her tres chic outfit were Christian Louboutin shoes and a jumpsuit from Top Shop. To hear her pearls of wisdom visit her twitter account @ www.twitter.com/TeresaHerrera27.

Taylor Gardner, dressed in a cream crochet dress that may be vintage but is right on trend for Spring/Summer 2012. Her thin belt with multi colored beading at the back and her Aldo ankle boots creates the perfect look. If you’re thinking about a change in your hair style, the bangs in her style are a fantastic way to update your look.
Thank you ladies, you have done Los Angeles fashion proud!!

A Bit Of Nostalgia In Present Day

What do Audrina Patridge and Jesica Alba have in common; besides being beautiful, chic and never having lived through seventies fashion?

They both have been spotted rocking the latest denim craze, and we might add, doing it rather well. Both have been sporting the Georgina in New Zealand wash from 7 from All Man Kind. Their new jean trouser sports a higher waist, wide legs and quirky pocket detail. While we expect the skinny leg jean is not going anywhere, there is plenty of room for a new favorite.

Can we say ” Charlie’s Angels”!!

Bundle up in Style!

It may feel like Spring the last few days but we all know life can change on a dime. Here in California, it’s been known to drop twenty degrees from one day to the next. We haven’t even played the Super Bowl, so you can bet there will be a few more chilly days ahead.

While it’s true Giselle could look dynamite in a burlap sack, here she has the casual chic look down pat and in a way that seems like it takes little effort. The outfit she wears looks casual chic which we here at Curator’s of style love.

We found some great items to help you get Giselle’s Look.
